About This Session

What was delivered, why, and how

Format

2-hour virtual session (Zoom) with ~200 participants per cohort. Three cohorts scheduled across the week to maximise attendance across time zones and teams.

Co-Facilitated

Two facilitators work in tandem: Alex covers AI knowledge, practical demos, and use-case design. Glenn leads behavioural coaching, mindset shifts, and habit formation using the COM-B model.

Purpose

Build a shared understanding of what AI is and isn't, introduce the AI Spectrum framework, reframe common fears around adoption, and equip every participant with a concrete action to try this week.

What Was Covered

The session had four blocks: setting expectations through interactive polls, reframing mindsets around AI adoption, live demonstrations of AI at four proficiency levels, and committing to Atomic Actions for the week ahead.

Expectations vs Reality

Participants voted on five common AI statements to surface assumptions and misconceptions. Each statement was then discussed, with the correct answer revealed. This exercise calibrates the room's starting knowledge and creates a shared foundation for the rest of the session.

AI Spectrum Self-Assessment

The AI Spectrum is the programme's core framework. It describes four levels of AI usage — from Search Engine (using AI to look things up) through First Draft (getting AI to create a starting point) and Thinking Partner (using AI to challenge your thinking) to Workflow Collaborator (integrating AI into daily workflows). Participants self-assessed where they currently sit.

Biggest Blockers

Participants identified the single biggest barrier preventing them from using AI more. This data directly shapes future session content and helps prioritise where the programme focuses its energy.

Which Mindset Shift Resonates Most?

Three common fears were reframed as empowering perspectives. Each shift addresses a real adoption barrier identified in the pre-programme AI Survey of 372 employees. Participants voted on which reframe resonated most with their own experience.

What People Want to Use AI For

In a live word cloud exercise, participants shared the tasks they do regularly that they believe AI could help with. Responses have been grouped into themes. This data feeds directly into the design of Topics 2-4 and helps AI Council ambassadors tailor adoption support for their teams.

What's Stopping Them

Immediately after naming their first AI task, participants shared what has prevented them from trying it. Surfacing blockers alongside aspirations creates a clear picture of where support is most needed.

Commitments & Reflection

At the close of the session, participants made a concrete commitment and reflected on where they are with AI at work.

Atomic Actions Chosen

Atomic Actions are small, repeatable commitments designed to build AI habits — inspired by the Tiny Habits framework. Each takes less than 5 minutes. The First Experiment means trying one AI-assisted task this week. The Verification Question means building the habit of asking "How would I verify this?" before trusting AI output. Participants who chose Both committed to trying both actions.

Self-Reflection

At the end of the session, participants reflected on where they see themselves with AI at work — from "still figuring it out" to "using it confidently and critically." This provides a snapshot of the room's readiness and helps calibrate the depth of future sessions.

Session Satisfaction

Anonymous post-session evaluation collected via Slido. Participants rated the session on a 1-5 scale across three dimensions.

These scores are based on evaluation responses from registered participants.

What Participants Said

Anonymised qualitative feedback from the post-session evaluation. Responses are tagged as positive, constructive suggestions for improvement, or mixed (containing both).

Live Chat Reactions

Anonymised messages from the Zoom chat during the session — 25+ thank-you messages at close

Programme Progress

AI Momentum targets 40% certification by end of H1 2026 and 100% by end of 2026. Certification requires attendance at all 4 Baseline Sessions, Adoption Group participation, a documented use case, and manager attestation.
